About CareLink

Built in Jamaica, for Jamaica.

The first childcare platform designed around how Jamaican families actually live, talk, pay, and trust — not adapted from somewhere else.

Why we built this

In Jamaica, finding a good sitter has always meant the same thing: word of mouth. Ask your aunt. Ask the woman at church. Ask the mom at the school gate. Cross your fingers.

That works — when it works. When it doesn't, parents lose work days, families miss appointments, and good sitters with no network sit at home with no clients.

The platforms that exist today — global names like Care.com and the long-tail Jamaica page on Babysits.com.jm — were never built for this country. No JMD payments. No JCF Police Certificate verification. No WhatsApp. No vouching from your community. Just a search box and a paywall.

So we built one that is. Verified by the same JCF certificate every Jamaican family asks for. Vouched for by neighbours, school parents, and church members — the people whose word actually carries weight here. Paid in JMD. Confirmed on WhatsApp.

Trusted care, close to home. That's the whole idea.

What we believe

Local trust beats global scale.

A vouch from a parent at your child's school is worth more than ten anonymous five-star reviews. We build trust the way Jamaica already builds it — through the people you already know.

Vetting is non-negotiable.

Every sitter on CareLink is JCF Police Certificate verified. We don't outsource that to a US background-check company that doesn't operate here. We verify the actual document, by hand and with AI.

Caregivers deserve dignity.

Sitters keep 100% of their hourly rate. Tipping goes 100% to them. We build for them as much as for parents — because if we don't, the platform doesn't work.

Where we're going

In year one, our job is to be the most trusted childcare platform in Jamaica. All 14 parishes. Real sitters in every community. WhatsApp-native bookings. WiPay payments. Police-verified everyone.

In year two, we expand to Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, and the rest of the Anglophone Caribbean — countries the global giants will never serve well, because their trust infrastructure (US background checks, USD-only Stripe) doesn't work outside the US/UK.

In year three, we launch the diaspora product so the 3 million+ Jamaicans abroad can book trusted care for their parents, in-laws, and relatives back home. And we cross into Spanish-speaking Caribbean — Dominican Republic, then Latin America.

The goal isn't to beat Care.com on its turf. The goal is to be the only company that actually serves the 250 million people across the Caribbean and Latin America that the giants can't.

The team

CareLink is a small Jamaican team — a mix of parents, technologists, and operators who have personally felt the gap this platform fills.

We're hiring across all 14 parishes for our community ambassador programme — paid local leads who help onboard caregivers and families in their parish. If that's you, email hello@carelinkja.com.

One platform, every parish, every family.

Whether you need a sitter for tonight or a nanny for the year — start with CareLink.
